Trane Stays on Top, A's Break Through

Trane kept their stranglehold on the league standings Monday night by beating Jackalopes 9-0, sweeping the season series. Marc Towler was dominating on the mound, retiring the last 14 batters he faced. Strong defense also helped Trane to their second stright shutout. Opponents are hitting 0.069 against Trane pitching over those last 2 games. In the nightcap, the real Jim Foulis made an appearance holding down the Ales bats, and the A's prevailed 5-2. There are no games next week in observance of Memorial Day. Trane heads up the standings at 5-0 followed by Ales at 3-2, A's at 1-3, and Jackalopes at 0-4. Trane can wrap up the regular season title with a win over Ales in two weeks.
